So, what does financial coaching look like?
Well, first of all, great coaches are NOT counselors. We won't rehash your mistakes and dwell on what went wrong in your past. Great coaches focus on the future. Yes, we will need to look in the rear-view mirror once in a while, but the majority of the time we will focus on the windshield to see and plan for what's ahead.
The First step is to schedule your free Consultation
This initial meeting over the phone allows both of us to ensure that you will benefit from our coaching process. Once an agreement is made, payment is received, forms are sent to prepare for your session, and once the coach has received the filled out forms, your first session is scheduled.
How to prepare for your Session
Don't worry about gathering years of tax documents and bank statements before your session. After your free consultations the next step is to click on the form submission button located in the middle of each web-page and take a couple of minutes to fill out the personal snapshot information.
Once submitted, I will then follow up with a confirmation email that contains a request for a little more information that will greatly assist us in our first session so we can hit the ground running. The “spending” form request is a list of everything you spent last month - from your water bill to your student loan payment. Some of these expenses will be easy to identify, but some are going to need to be your best guestimation. No worries, we just need something to start with in order to get your first session on the calendar.
What will happen during your Session
When you get together with your coach, in person or over the phone, your coach will have already reviewed your forms. The first session is normally between 1.5 - 2 hours and additional sessions are normally one hour in length. Every client has different needs, so every coaching session to personally tailored to fit those needs.
What you will walk away with
Successful clients move the needle as soon as possible after their session. That's why your coach will give you action steps to follow almost immediately after your session. Keep in mind that you won't leave your session with all your issues magically solved. But you will however leave equipped. Think of your financial coach as a personal trainer. We will show you what to do and how to do it, but the heavy lifting is up to you. We are in your corner coaching you towards success for as little or as long as you need us. You don't have to be alone during this journey.
